I’m an editor, writer, and audio producer in Cambridge, MA. I currently work as a writing coach for faculty and scholars through Draft by Draft. Previously, I was the assistant director and then interim director of Columbia University’s GSAS Writing Studio. Before that, I spent eight years as an editor and journalist in the US, Liberia, and South Sudan. My journalistic work has appeared in PRI’s The World, Deutsche Welle, Guernica, Politics/Letters, Public Books, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and several NPR stations. I earned my BA from Swarthmore College in 2009 and spent the following year exploring radio and reconciliation in post-conflict societies around the world as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow. In 2021, I completed a doctorate in English and comparative literature at Columbia University, where my research focused on the literature and reportage of the Nigeria-Biafra war (1967-1970). Outside of work, you might find me practicing yoga, caring for my young daughter, or hiking in the woods.
